Garibaldi Lake

This hike takes you up a gentle yet consistent trail to a stunning alpine lake. Travel through lush coastal rain forests, past “the Barrier” - an impressive ‘lava dam’ that holds back Garibaldi Lake, up to a stunning alpine lake. Enjoy incredible views of towering mountains, ancient volcanoes, and snow-covered glaciers, and explore the Battleship Islands or swim in the beautiful glacier-fed turquoise lake.

Trail Distance: 19km, 950m elevation gain

What to expect:

  • Walk along a wide, relatively smooth trail up a gentle grade that continues uphill for almost 6km. After 6km, the trail continues through rolling terrain to reach the jaw-dropping Garibaldi Lake.

  • Your hiking guide will provide instructions and a briefing before setting off.
